Studio #611-70 Arthur Street in the Exchange, Winnipeg, MB |
Open tour hours, noon to 5p.m. Leona’s studio is also open by appointment. |
Leona, even though she was born in Winnipeg, has traveled and painted her way throughout Canada, the USA Mexico, Cuba and Europe, and in the summer of 1998 lived and painted with exceptional artists in China. Her art reflects the images, but mainly the inner spirit of these places.
Leona is an associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Society of Painters in Watercolour. Her paintings have been displayed in galleries in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Toronto and China.
Leona paints from the soul and finds that it is the process of painting that is important to her. In the representative samples of her work contained in her web site, the results of Leona’s pouring out of her heart are indeed an extensive vocabulary that expresses her feelings in a powerful way.
As well as painting in her large exchange district studio, Leona teaches there, and for the past 11 years has taken artists to exotic places around the world to paint and soak in the culture of the regions.
