Medea Gallery, named after a Greek enchantress, was established in 1976 as Winnipeg's first Artists' co-operative. It comprises two floors of original fine art by Manitoba artists. Member artists manage and staff the gallery. The gallery also handles art and craft items by selected consignment artists.
Member artists exhibit continuously through the year with individual members being featured for two-week periods at a time. Major exhibitions are held several times a year.
Member artists currently are: Kathleen Black, Marlene A. Campbell, Ruth Chodkiewicz, Rebecca Cramer, Rosemary Dzus, Sheldon Dawson, Lesly Dawyduk, Gale Enns, Amanda Philipson Graham, Mable Huber, Jo McKeever, Marika Onufrijchuk Sokulski, Judith St Germain, Bill Shoup, David Streeter, George Tanner and Lillian Toews.
Medea Gallery members believe everyone should be able to own original fine art: therefore we offer original fine art at reasonable prices. A rental program is also available, with the ability to apply rental payments to the purchase price of the artwork.
